If there were still any major car shows, I'd probably do it.

they brought HIN to Nashville. It was pathetic. NOPI Regional shows were neat, but for me they're no longer worth anything more than a 3-4 hour drive. They seem to be diminishing in variety, participants, and new attractions. They're going away from cars and more into parties (jello wrestling, models, etc.) - not that that's a bad thing, but for a regional show I probably wouldn't drive more than 3 hours.

However, these boards do look pretty near, and a 20x30 would be eye catching and possibly memorable to judges.

What material / thickness are they?

Lucky for me HIN near me is either in NY or New jersey. Both times I went took an hour or less to get there.

When i entered shows, i think more people looked at the board that the car lol. Always a huge attention grabber.

Here are pics of the back and side. They are about 1/4 inch thick. Nice weight, and can be easily hung on a wall as a nice display piece in the home when you are not using it.
It also has pretty nice weight to it.

I'd like to say that these make the difference between a car and a legendary car at car shows. When people see a sign in front of a car it not only gives them a list of the modifications but it also turns your car into an exhibit. These are always a good idea if your goal is to win a car show.

these are a bit pricey though.

^true true, I do tend to stop and look at cars longer that have these. It makes it a display rather than just a car sitting there.

I guess maybe its just me, but I've always found subtle to be better.
