when I was in high school I was riding in a buddies single turbo v6 eclipse. This thing wasn't slow by any means. We were cruising on the highway and a geo storm pulls next to us and signals to race. We take off and he was right next to us. He looks over, smiles and leaves us like we were standing still. I still to this day can't figure it out...

Hmm...probably when a Honda Odyssey minivan handed my ass to me. Lol. I guess it was getting even for all the Civics that would be posting "A red Hyundai Accent" to this question on a Honda forum.

 

Well we are in Hyundais, so NOTHING should surprise us when we get beat in a race. Hell or fastest sport car up until late 2009 was the GT Tiburon, which was never "fast" by any means. The question should be " whats the most unexpected car that YOU beat in a race?". For that i would have to say an S2000, poor thing had a hard time keeping up with me for a while then in 5th toward the top he started to pass me but not by that much... as far as getting beaten, with my mods I hate when I have a hard time passing up a Prius...no way I should be passing them that slowly...I hate those stupid little cars.

 

Well there was a time I was driving home from my college class and I was crusing on the interstate heading home, and a vw super beetle pulled up next to me, did the 3 honks, i pulled and i was like sweet, then this thing actually passed me spinning both rear wheels, it was crazy. Little to know that this was an Subaru Wrx Sti swaped Bettle.

For me biggest surprise was me 95 Caravan (V6) vs 98 Dakota (RWD V6). I drove the dakota tons of times and I thought the caravan was faster but I lost by a few cars.

 

Toyota Paseo. I would guess it was a 14sec car. I have NO idea what was under the hood, but it was quick.

That beat me? Probably an old CRX that came up to me and toyed a little. After we started going, heard the BOV and knew THEN he was running turbo to my NA. Bastard.

That I've beat, that would be an Audi A4 that just couldn't seem to keep up. Let him pass later on, and he didn't want to play anymore.
