Whats a good way to practice getting my reaction times up? I thought about just sitting at a stop light, and concentrating on taking off when the light turns green, but then I wouldnt want to get in trouble if a cop see's me launching on the streets. lmao.gif

You could try going when a traffic light turns green, but that's not a good comparison to a tree at a drag strip. You need to go on the last yellow. You really need one of the portable trees. I haven't researched them nor do I know how much they cost.
practice practice practice
just take it to the track and do it there...99.9% of the times other racers there are REALLY cool and will help you out if you ask and wont judge you at all
and jon it depends if they are running a pro tree or not....you either leave on the second yellow or leave on the first yellow depending on the tree
besides
reaction times dont matter at all unless you are actually racing the guy next to you
i tend to look out for my times at the track...ive dont actually race half the guys i go to the track with lol a good 60 foot is more important than a good reaction time, he may hole shot you and get a better reaction but if you can gain traction faster you will win the race
besides you have nitrous anyways 90% of the time youll be playing catch up
i used to love playing games on the tree
wait for the other guy to do a burn out and line up before you...then i would warm my slicks up and line up next...by the time i lined up his tires would be alot colder than mine tongue.gif

I think this is the first time I am going to disagree with you faith. R/t is a part of drag racing.. taking 30min to make sure you get a good 60ft to me is like cutting across the grass at another type of track to get a better time. Your cheating!.. lol
On getting better.. heading to the track is the best way IMO. The gizmos and online practice things are good, but they do not account for everything else going on. See what night they are slow and go for a bunch of runs.
The everything else going on would be; the car's reaction time, roll out, etc. Each beam has to reconnect to start the timer. To get a perfect you are actually moving forward just a little before the green light goes off. So far I only pulled off one .000 (LED Tree), with a bunch of .00X and one -0.001 (that one really pissed me off).

lol im not sayin wait for 30 minutes to leave
i said wait a tick to calm down...i still end up clickin off .6-.9 reaction times but ive been able to pull off 2.0x 60 foots by taking a breath before i leave we have FWD vehicles getting traction is hard enough
so like i said you may pull off a perfect .500 but my ass will still be passing you by the 60 foot
now if you can get BOTH down then im screwed laugh.gif
abqelantra used to hole shot me all the damn time, made me have to play catchup in third
same with some local cats named sean and jason
if you wanna learn how to get better reaction times and launch harder...take it to the track where you can vary your style
if you end up smoking the tires tryin to leave no one is gonna pull you over for it lol

The only time I can remember having big issues with my 60ft was when I took the elantra with yoko touring tires..... those things HATED the track. No matter what I did they could only pull off a 2.4 (even when I ignored the light). I could get 2.3 with my accent on 13 inch tires, lol. That was such a fail night at the track. I still managed to take out a bunch of honda mess.
