you might possibly have a chance at top end where your preformance actually works but i think on the low end 1/4 miles your prolly get it handed to you. i mean in all reality your talking about an S4 vs a tiburon, what did u really think was going to happen?

These S4s are stupid fast. twin turbo, AWD, and factory tuned for 450 hp if i'm not mistaken. handles like a dream too.

Being modded... welll I don't think that it runs 14 anymore...

We have a guy here with two of these. It's one of the best cars. a real fight for an M3 even.

They aren't that fast, but modded they get up to spec. I'd do some research on S4 forums and find out what those turbos are and what psi they can run or bump it up to stock. It really depends on what size those turbos are and what pressure he can run them at.

 

^^^^yea but your talking about a low-end ( old or extremely used and prolly beat up) v-8 or v-10 RWD versus a modded AWD turbo DSM. from a launch you have more then a good chance to win.

we are talkin about a brand new S4 versus a modded tib.

yes the tib is deadly quick (IN ITS CLASS) but your talkin about a car that easly is a class or two above us. i mean i beat down cars that i shouldnt all the time but your comparasin is like a modded vette versus a highly modded celica. its just a battle that your probably not going to win, might be fun but your most likely not gonna win

 

at least your not talking the trash, let him talk it. i hope you stick with his bumper at least, try not to let him run away from you. if he grinds a low gear you might just have him, buit twin turbo AWD...ehhhhhhhh id be very reluctant. S4's are sweet.

 

i think tuned right your car should be able to take him.. i think gary ran somewhere in the 13s on his t3 super 60 and he had low comp. pistons which would drop the power down a bit..

so tuned right you should be able to push the power or more than gary was pushing, because you have stock compression and should be able to hang with him.. also.. just get slicks.. screw the quaifee.. seriously.. tim has no transmission mods, NO LSD, stock axles and slicks and runs a 11.90.. you could spend the 1200$ somewhere else, like on weight reduction, or go fast parts. if your sticking with a t3 super 60 and you hook up a LSD insert the right way itll be plenty sufficient..

just spend the 1200$ that you would spend on the quaifee on something else like slicks and weight reduction or something, so you will go faster.

also AWD is good at the start, but a hinder after that. and the weight is working against him.

also i would make sure you go to the track a couple times before the big race, and get a feel for things.

you have a HUGE chance to win, and actually crush him.. if he just has exhaust and over seas turbos that are factory, he wont be that much faster than USA stock.. lets say he runs a high 13.. with your setup as is, right now, with slicks, and a little weight reduction, a good tune, and about 16psi, you will be able to run a mid 13, and shut him up.

it seems that some people are not taking into consideration the turbo kit and management that eric has on his car.. he has the capability to get a very precise tune on his car, look at what jongtr did.. hes probably at about 300whp on a stock motor, and his car is still working great..

i could see your car pulling about 270whp or more with that turbo and the stock compression which should make for a good 13.5 on slicks with a little weight reduction.

AWD is SOOOOO overrated... yeah its amazing for traction, good luck fighting both them driveshafts at higher speeds... unless you have like 1200 hp lol. Youll own him easy, especially if you know how to launch and shift.

 

im really hoping i can take him and i will have had practice at the track before this happens. theres a long list of people and cars i need to take out when i get mine tuned perfectly. a lot of people dont realize what our cars are capable of and need to be taught some things

 

Slicks = best mod for price for cars that run 14 seconds or better IMO.
