Default Is it mandatory to carry fire extinguishers at the track or auto-x?

Im attempting to go to the track & do some auto crossing for the first time this summer with my Beta swapped Accent. I was wondering if most places make it a requirement for you to have a fire extinguisher with you when you do such events or things? I ask because I dont have one and if alot of places make it mandatory, I'll have to go out and buy one.

It depends on the track or auto-x event. Some require all cars to have them and others only require certain cars, like if you're a 10 second drag strip monster. But fo regular street cars, Im pretty sure most tracks are fine if you dont have one in your car.

Generally you don't need one for autox, but that would depend on the club. Almost no clubs require one though, and instead have extinguishers at each work station.

$0.02: you should have one anyway. The car you save could be your own. I've had a baby fire extinguisher in my trunk since not-long after one of the members at FXTreme had an engine bay fire on the highway, which he extinguished with the extinguisher he always had in the car.

Get a real full size one specifically meant for extinguishing auto fires. They're $12 at Lowes.

Make sure you can fully securely mount it though. It'll have to be SOLID as hell or they'll fail you at an autox tech inspection. Or at least make you take the fire extinguisher out of the car.

The tracks I go to it is not a requirement..But a wise investment!, the first time you have to put out an engine fire with your tshirt, you'll regret not picking one up..like I did.
