The last race of the season is coming up next Sunday and my entire Country is hoping that our guy can beat Felipe Massa for second place overall. Plus Massa is an impolite driver, pushing our guy off track.

Anyone else intersted? I don't really like Formula 1, but ever since WRC began sucking, it's been really quite interesting watching how difficult and precise F1 driving is. I know if you don't have a favorite guy it's not interesting. For me it makes me tearfully happy to see one of my guys high up there. He's approximately 1 month older than me. Makes me wonder where I went wrong lmao.gif

you should see the way fans reacted to the drivers at shanghai. the dividers could barely hold the largely chinese crowd of girls from lunging themselves over.
my favorite track is Monaco to this day. I find the setting and idea of having be the definition of the city right through it marvelous. it's the most interesting to watch, and spectators have an excellent view from all angles and sometimes perhaps they don't have to go to a stadium to see it. not only that, they have a neat rally stage that is held on part of the track. and it is most exciting when all of the rally teams got together at the casino (all the way until 2004 when it got dumb)
i've never been to a race, but i've seen them racing in Austria visible from the highway. don't realize how fast they are until with your own eyes.
BLK, i was hoping raikkonen would make it too. but he's good right where he is, behind Kubica. raikkonen wiki: "Räikkönen became the highest paid driver in motor sport with an estimated wage of $51 million per year"
51M a year!!! nice little salary. f*** politics, bodyguards, and being in history books. lmao.gif

f1 is cool, I still like rally the best though. I've only got enough time to watch one so rally wins out!
do you watch it on cable? they don't have wrc on tv here anymore (speed tv sucks!) no wrc, no top gear!

^totally agree. f1 drivers would make for great rally drivers. kubica had tested out a Lancer and he drifted absolutely perfect. valentino rossi (number 1) from moto gp also beat colin mcrae by 1 whole second in a head to head.

I usually don't pay attention to modern rallying ever since they took out night stages, san remo, kenya and Monaco. but thanks for the link, I'll definitely download some Catalunya footage. the crazy wipe out moments are worth every download!
here are the links to the best source for rally videos. really worth the watch. they have stuff of all kinds.

Massa wins 1st, but second in the driver's title because Hamilton was in 6th on wet tires, and Glock was in 5th on dry tires. the 2nd lap from the finish it began to rain. so Hamilton got to 5th on the last lap. So he takes the drivers title.
Unfortunately for Robert Kubica, he's at 11th because his team decided to change the tires back to dry at the last second during the start, the only one who wasn't at the starting line. It's his worst race of the season. He loses the podium 02.gif Robert Kubica is the only driver who hadn't had a single retirement in a race this year.
Unfortunately Ferrari takes 1st place. But at least Hamilton won the driver's title.

I would have liked to see Massa win it. Hamilton didnt seem to have a big sense of urgency in the last few laps at all....very odd. And I felt so bad for Massa's dad, they were all celebrating thinking he had won...

the first time in 25 years of rule changes. they changed regular tires to only soft vs. hard and aerodynamics, for example, the nose and tails were pushed inward so passing could be more competitive, driver cannot see his nose.
F1 australia, 3 laps left, Kubica with pole position being granted to him. the last 3 laps Kubica was in 3rd place on hard compound tires. Button in first and Vettel in second had soft compound that were bald. both of them had no chance and had no grip in corners. Kubica was charging for pole position but Vettel stupidly defended his third position and clipped Kubica sending them both off into the walls. Vettel was penalized and fined $50,000 for racing with 3 wheels, Kubica is last instead of first like he should have easily been 02.gif

^^^ i watched the entire race last night, talk about a crash up derby especially going into the first turn on lap 1, wtf! lmao.
i kinda like the idea of the soft and hard compound tires vs. 3 types of compounds but i dont agree with the following:
1. decreasing the size of the rear wing. them damn cars are squirrely enough, now they slide all over the place except for the few that added a new diffuser in the rear which should have been a all around option instead of just a few teams having it for the openeing race. you could really see which ones had it and which ones didnt.
2. making the starting weight of our car official before the green flag drops. who cares if someone goes out with only 1/2 tank running soft compound tires.
3. increasing the front wing size from 1.4 meters to 1.8 meters. this makes the wing as wide as the car and from what i watched last night, most of the front wings were so damn torn up cause the drivers are not used to them. they used to be able to not worry about the wings so much if they tapped tires in a turn. now, the wing is just as wide as the front which can turn the wing into a tire shredder.
I did like how the track owners said "NO" to a nighttime running like F1 officals wanted for this race. they had already lost a ton of money on assorted other things that F1 wanted installed on the track which none of it was safety oriented.
