The Driver's Edge Sep. 15-16 @ Texas Motorsports Ranch

I thought some of you Texas guys might be interested in this. It's a two day event at a REAL track, not a safety cone course out in some parking lot. It can be run in two configurations: either a 1.7 mile 11 turn road course or a 3.1 16 turn road course with elevation changes. I've run both, and the longer one is much more fun. You'll get 4 track sessions per day, with each session lasting around 25 minutes. So you're looking at about 2 hrs total track time.
This event is a sort of high performance driving school. If you're in the beginner groups, you have a instructor riding shotgun with you (in your own car), and after you finish a track session, you have a classroom session to discuss what you did right and wrong on the track, and what you should be looking to improve upon in your next track session.
I attended their Mar 31-Apr 1 session at this track. Let me tell you, those two days were INTENSE, but hella fun! My driving skills improved so much it wasn't even funny.
I'm gonna try to go to this one, hope some of you guys can make it.

I wanted to go to it this year but with the class schedule I got stuck with there is no way I can make it.
A local car group usually gets together to caravan to it. Everyone that has gone says it's an awesome experience.

Patreezy - No, it's a private company that runs it. They've been running it for like 15 years or something like that. Yeah, as far as track stuff goes, my wish list is (in order of preference): Bride EXAS III seat, Takata 5 pt racing harness, Spoon Sports 4 pt roll cage, 17 in wheels w/ Bridgestone RE050A PP.
And it was damned cool driving on a track with Elises, NSXs, Z06s, M3s, M5s, etc etc etc.
SplinterCel - Damn dude, sry to hear you won't be able to make it. But yeah, you definitely should go to at least one of these events. It's soo much fun.
