I know alot of people will put bags of ice on their intake manifolds in between runs at the track to cool them down. Does anyone here do that?
i've heard of some people doing it. most of the people are everyday shmos racing at the track for fun in their older sport compacts with cheap turbo kits or bolt ons. Makes me laugh
although i've never personally seen anyone do that, nor would i do it. i think its silly unless you have a 'real' race car and are competitively racing for something

majik, what about a 10.07? do you think you would run it then? because it might bring you down to that 10.02 mark.. would you use dry ice? or save money and buy it at sonic?
haha
haha
alot of people do that usually its for cars in rough shape like he said someones old sports compact thats standing on a pirates leg to speak.. would it improve a tad yes...worth the time no. if improved any its in the thousands of a second. more so to keep your engine cool

Ive never used it either however I have seen guys use dry ice at the track. Some of the more functional setups consist of a small cooler with intake piping running through it and packed with dry ice and then sealed to retain the cold. Lots of work for maybe tenth of a second if that. If you want to shave some time off start with weight reduction, seats, spare tire, etc...
The thermodynamic effects of dry ice over regular ice are log10, where dry ice would increase your power by an exponent of 3 over the common application of regular ice due to the speedy emission of vapor and partical density. The Periculant users of such methods are often thought to be besot by ridiculous internet rumors. However, when they hit the nitrous dioxide button (NAWS), it will appear as if they're actually breathing nitrous oxide (laughing gas), because they'll be the ones laughing.
