crazy night! cops
CRAZY! just the past weekend, i was dropping off some friends and heading home, when i got to this stop light. my friend pulls up next to me and wants to race. he has a 2000 accord V-6. i said he would kill me, but i decided to race anyways. well the freeway on-ramp was a one lane ordeal so he let me go first. I took off and he was behind me... a good couple of car lengths. I think i was winning, but i didn't see the cop right behind me as i entered the freeway at about 80mph. well, i hit over 100 without knowing he was there, till he later flashed his lights and pulled me over, (dang it). I knew i was dead, I did everything wrong, and when i pull over, 2 cops came out and shown their lights on me. I did everything possible to stay on the goods with them. I was extra respectful and very obedient. I even pulled off the freeway and into a safe street away from traffic. well the cop asked for my license. looked at it. looked over the car and was shaking his head. He looked MAD! i was freaked, cuz right now i don't have a job or any money to pay for the ticket. my car is pretty flagrant, i had just gotten a spoiler, so my car looks more raced out than ever before. well the cop started to lecture me about how i was going to fast and i could lost my license and car if he saw me do that again that is what he would do. but suprisingly he just gave me a warning, and let me be??!!!! WHAT!!! i was in shock! why so nice? But i guess i was lucky cuz in the back of the squd car, there was a arrested soul back there. so i guess the cop was to busy and didn't want to bother with ticketing me and towing the car etc. Boy was i lucky!
Chap, you were VERY lucky. If you were caught doing that in the UK, you would be looking at a ban for at least 6 months! STREET RACING IS BAD!!
Telling off administered smile.gif , the chances are, your behaviour when you stopped saved you. When I was a Police officer in the UK, we used to say that we just stop you, you write your ticket.. If you are polite (without grovelling)and respectful, and if you were not doing anything tooooo bad, then you get a warning (or a Producer where you have to take your licence, Insurance documents & registration to the police station within 7 days)... If you are uncooperative, then out comes the ticket book.
Please remember, the cops are there for everyones safety, if you get pulled over, it is probably because you were actually doing something wrong, rather than picking on you coz you have a nice car.

HAHAHA Chap.. that's funny
Oh sorry.. yeah.. it was ya attitude.. that and at 100 mph they usually have to take you in, cause it becomes misdermeanor Reckless driving.. and since he had another suspect in the back of his car he couldn't take you in.. And probably didn't feel like being bothered with doing 2 sets of paper work... Congrats on that.. I tell everybody.. If ya gonna race.. be aware of whats around you... You shoulda realized when ya friend was backin off that something was wrong.. and he shoulda flashed you... he owes you a drink now..

Any form of street racing is bad news,I'm sick and tired of attending funerals and hearing about just who bought the farm last night. Just please everyone keep it to the track, keep safe and stay alive!
yeah yeah yeah. I know... i was stupid. but it was fun. and I predict that im going to die from some sort of machine, even if it isn't this car. (maybe a motorcycle). well, the cop didn't know i was street racing. I came onto the ramp before my friend, and he was a distance off, so it didn't appear to be street racing. All i really did was accelerate fast. I don't really know my speed, and the cop didn't have a radar so no true speed was determined. whatever, now im a SAFE driver... at least for hafe a yr or so.
just to let you know a cop doesnt need a radar gun to tell you how fast you are going there is a thing called pacing. ive been to many street races nd know first hand all the penalties involved if your caught might as well sell your car to pay the fines and youll have enough left over for a bus pass.
Yeah..street racing is BAD! When I had my 2K, it was impounded twice for being involved with street racing. I still have my license due to having very generous judges and very good attorney's. However, I currently have 8 points, and somewhat expensive insurance. Have I learned lesson? You're damn skippy I have. The ONLY racing I do now is at the track. I still go to the illegals, but I go with other people in THEIR cars. That's the closest I'll get to it. wink
