That's why starting in 99, all Tibs sold in the US were called FX (but didn't have the badges), because they stopped carrying the 1.8 models. Why put the FX badge on the back if they were all that trim.

 

To clear up any mixups or confusion, i had an orignal 1.8 in the car with 137,000 miles on it, the valve seals and guides were bad on it and i was blowing oil like crazy, it was cheaper to buy a new engine, then rework the head, and guides. I blew the transmission in the car, so i replaced the engine along with it, i bought a 2.0 trans cause it had better highway final gear ratio, and put a different 1.8 motor in it, the 1.8 motor i put in it has a 2.0 head on it, and certain 1.8 motors in korea come with 140hp, motors here only have 130hp, it was really more of a motor R&R. And with the check engine light on, i have no cat. in my car, so the O2 sensors see not enough oxygen so it leans out the mixture!

sorry to say but RSX would win because it's smaller and lighter. tiburons are pretty heavy. close race though...

Well i dunno about that, the Tibs dont really look like ferraris but they ARE dead sexy, and rsx's remind me of my dogs fecal matter

my elantra is 2500lbs
are tib's more than 2800lbs?

 

The 1st gen tibs are 2620lbs

Not sure about the 2nd gens

The 3rd gen 6cyl are almost 3000lbs and the 4cyl are over 2800lbs

 

First gen tiburons are 2600 lbs, acura rsx's are 2950, i also tok out all my seat and spare tire, so my car was about 2500 lbs at the time of the race.

 

i dont' know how safe i'd feel driving around in a car that has been totalled 2 times...

 

Yea the cars never been the same since its been totaled, but i love this car so much, and everyone else says that tiburons are garbage crappy cars, i have to show them all what an amazing car it really is. i've paid ALOT of good money to have it fixed to almost "good-as-new" status but the car will never be higher then 85% structual integerity. one last thing, it still holds pretty damn good at 135mph!!!!!! lol.gif alignments perfect too
