why do you care about trap speed?
better 60 foot = better ET
better ET = faster car
most will say that better 60 foot = better trap since you are gettin traction and able to accelerate faster

OP is right though, for a given quarter mile time.
You can use that same principle to beat the other guy through a set of traffic lights. When they go red, brake early and roll up to the lights at like 20 mph: when the light goes green you're already in gear doing 20 and the other bloke has to start from scratch.
