This is with the mods in my sig and on pretty much bald tires, and also I took out my backseats and subs.

RT: .254
60': 2.36
1/8: 10.62
MPH: 66.88
1/4: 16.4359
MPH: 84.52

Racing Guru's, whats are some ways to improve my times? Im not buring it off the line, I am feathering it. Will tires with some tread help out. I was searching around and I will try shifting a little under 6K next time. From what i've read these times are pretty slow with the mods I have. I really am hoping for 15's......

Gary, if you power shift and you are already at, near, or above 6000 rpm, then won't you just be running your engine to redline for a split second in between each shift?

Also, on a stock clutch setup, wouldn't it slip and defeat the purpose of powershifting and hurting your engine in the first place?

I am basing my questions on the assumption that power shifting is when you just hold the accelerator to the floor in between shifts, if that is not correct than disregard my questions and call me an idiot, lol.

That 60' isn't too bad, you might be able to bring it down a tenth, which would result in roughly a two tenth faster run (general rule when racing the 1/4 mile is one tenth of the 60 is 2 tenths of the quarter).

As for getting better times, yes, better, possibly wider tires would help (if they will fit). Also, run on the stock wheels and tires, ditch the heavy 17's (unless they are lightweights, but they don't look like it in your avitar). Lose more weight, check our diy weight reduction thread, there is a lot of good information there, although you might not want to go as far into it as some. You could also try resetting your ecu and beating on the car a bit to get a more aggressive fuel tune when you run (search for more info on this and you will find it if you don't already know what it is). Try to shift faster, it looks like you may be taking a bit of time in between shifts considering your mph and trap speeds. Also, let your car cool off/down before every run for a good bit of time. Heat soak will cost you a couple of tenths if not more. If you really want to lower your times, get a bag of ice from a nearby liquor store and set it on the intake manifold for a good half hour before each run, until the IM is ice cold. That will definately give you at least a tenth. Remember, colder air is denser air and thus your engine will make more power when the air is cold rather than hot. So you may want to go to the track on a cold night the next time you go.

Hope some of that helps.

For the time it shaves on a puny import transmission I wouldn't recommend doing it, powershifting's origins in muscle cars where the transmissions are basically impervious to damage in most instances are why it was done.

And to be honest, slamming gears isn't going to get you down the track any faster either and is just going to increase wear on synchros. Just work on technique, transition between gears, even flying down the track, should be smooth.

To be honest your wheels are probably owning you more than anything else.

^ I have a 1.8l tib with the same mods and Im running a 15.5 with a 2.222 rt on some heavy ass 17's... Slamming it into gear I think is a good idea as long as your foot can cope.. I was getting 2nd burnouts and 3rd gear scratches on falken ziex 512's.... Its truefully you got to know your car. Know where your powers ending and when you need to shift.. I shift at 6100rpms, and launch at the track as if im just taking off regular and then floor it.. every time I lauch I just spin and spin and spin.

On another note I lost 2nd gear. So maybe my advice isnt worth taking.

Also routine maintence is a big factor here. I use nothing but synthetic oil, k&n oil and cone filter, kerosene motor flush every oilchange, NGK V-powers every 15k, and seafoam thru the intake regularly...
