09 Sonata V6 vs. 05 Tiburon V6
Okay, so this was a matchup between the Tib (Fujita intake, SSA catback) and a friend's mom's brand new 09 Sonata. The Sonata has the 249hp 3.3l V6, and of course an automatic. I've got the 2.7l and the 6 speed.
I generally don't street race anymore, but this was a matchup I was interested in so I made an exception. This was of course on a closed road in Bolivia.

My first 3 launches (one run is not on the video) were utter crap. I'm not that good at launching the Tib since it's not my car and I only drive it occasionally. It's pretty picky about what RPM you launch at and how you let out the clutch. The Sonata had me those 3 times. The 4th launch (3rd run on video) was actually alright and I walked away from the Sonata.
The general conclusion was that the Tib was a touch faster as-is but the Sonata was very close and would pretty easily beat a bone stock Tib V6 even with a manual.

Nope, there aren't many out of the way straight roads around here. It's a pretty minor corner though.
