It's an obvious ploy to pander to the Tumblr sofa-activists crowd, and it'll backfire because she's not "independent" enough to satisfy them. Stephanie Brown would make a better adaptation to the comic-cannon because she eventually becomes a batgirl. But then she's not "individual" enough because she's just copying Batman. And really SB's no where near as cool as Carrie Kelley, because lets face it Carrie was a bad-ass. So SB is just not "strong" enough to be a good fit for the Tumbr mainstream. And Stephanie was dating Tim Drake so she's not "lesbian" enough. Either way she has a gender so she'll never be "neutral" enough... And so on.
