Not to turn this into a political thread but.....
Automotive law is the one place where the democrats have succeeded. During the Clinton era a law was passed that allowed vehicles of certain rarity or historic importance be imported and legally driven on public roads provided mileage was kept below 5,000/year and the vehicle is maintained annually by a registered importer (RI). The main driving force (no pun intended) behind this move? A business man from Washington state called Bill Gates, who owned a rare and highly illegal Porsche 959.
So in short, you can own basically any car you want in this country so long as you have significant financial standing. Democrats, always thinking of the little guy :3
