How fast were the turbo s-coupes?
I cant find any real data on them like their 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. We're they pretty fast since they had boost and were light or was it a pretty tiny turbo that didnt do much? Was the engine a 1.8 beta or more like a small alpha?

I've read 9.2 seconds, somewhere. The 1.5 Turbo Alpha made like 115hp 123ftlb. It had 7.5:1 compression so off boost power would suck, although that small T15 turbo should spool somewhat quickly.

the guy i knew with one ran a high 16 second quarter mile. and he had some mods.

For today’s standards it’s not fast car but it was nice to drive. It had nice torque in low/mid range. In Europe where we don’t have “American muscle cars” it was decent fast car back then :)
Like 2000J25SP wrote it has T15 small turbo pushing around 0,25bar od boost and it doesn’t have intercooler |
I remember when I was stock and raced a friend of mine with 1.5 s-coupe turbo. He was with full exhaust and CAI. By the end of second gear he was at my rear wheel and after that it's clear the the Tib is a bit faster. 1/4 mile something like 2 cars difference.
Another friend bought a turbo from Supra and that S-coupe was sick !!! BMW M3 3.2 320+ hp was no match :D It was fun when some honda guys tought that full bolt on Vti Civic has a chance... it was ugly ! I will find these videos and post'em soon ;) |

So then all you would have to do is change the turbo, add some better fuel injectors (maybe a new fuel pump) and an intercooler and you would be good to go? What about tuning?
