Certain people seem to freak out when I tell them I have no problem going to a movie or baseball game or snowboarding alone. Like those things are just not fun or enjoyable unless you have someone to share the experience with. Why does society think you need to be with someone at all times to do stuff that makes you happy?

Out of that list, I would go to the movies, a restaurant, and hike by myself. I dont need people to have a good time...but it is just kind of weird doing some of that other stuff alone.

 

Many of the things on the list I don't even really like to do, so don't go unless it's for someone else's benefit. Some others, the majority of the fun is having someone with me that can share the experience so that we can reminisce later. I really only would go hiking or camping alone off that list, maybe on vacation but I prefer going with someone else on vacation so that we can talk about it later.

 

Visionz, you would not go to a club alone? Aren't you the loner at the club? The guy alone on stage?

I don't have a problem going to a club alone. I know self defense and unless you do something stupid, you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

 

*haha* I would only go to a club that I worked at, alone. Because I at least know the employees and can drink with the bartenders and stuff. But otherwise...I would never show up alone at a place like that. I'm always with a large entourage when I go out, so its not something I have to worry about. wink.gif

i do so many things alone. the things i didn't vote for are things I just don't do. I don't mind seeing a movie alone or taking a book to a restaurant solo. hiking and camping can be lonely but it gives you a lot of time to think about your life and soul. i'll only go to a bar alone if i know enough regulars that i'll bump into someone. same with live concerts and clubs.

 

I am WAAAAAAAAAY to codependent to do anything by myself. Even IF i go somewhere by myself i am on the phone with someone so that I am not alone. I am always worried that something bad will happen. If Floyd is gone for the night I panic and freak out. I can't stand it! It's sad I know but just how I am!
