Based on what I've read about the proposals it isn't effectively a "ban" in that you're allowed to keep your weapon (however you cannot sell it or give it away and the weapon goes to the feds when you die) if you're willing to pay the registration fee (currently $200 per firearm, which approaches the value of a large portion of the weapons they're attempting to force out of legal ownership within one lifetime.

^ that and much more. The military runs "drills" in small cities to take guns. They come in arrest guns shop owner and go door to door taking guns. why?

There are things that can be effected by executive order but there're no laws that state we can't own what we have now which are semi-autos and no law that says how many bullets we can have in them. That will have to be made in to law and passed which I don't think the ban of semi-autos will happen.

There are not enough people willing to take citizens' guns, once the citizenry heard it was happening 4realz.
