Yea, so i think i'm the only one in the nation with neither of these gaming systems. And, because of Christmas, i have some money that i want to spend on myself, as apposed to bills. ($175 of free money).

I want to know which gaming system i should get. I don't wanna buy a product and, come to find out, a NEW system will come out in 6 months and make the one i get obsolete. ya know?

i wanna know what you guys think. personally, i'm leaning towards the XBox, since i believe PS3 will be out by the end of 2005.

Definately XBox! It came out a year after the PS2 so it was able to take advantage of newer hardware. Plus, you can play on XBL with me and Redzman.

I just bought a PS2 but the reason I chose it was cause there's so many games offered for it and can play PS1 as well.

Plus

1. Main color is green.

2. 90% of the games are the best you'll ever play

3. Adult oriented system.

4. Controlers kick ass.

5. Hard Drive lets you download your CD's and PLAY THEM AS YOUR OWN SOUNDTRACKS in games.

6. Xbox Live is the best add on ever.

7. Hard Drive lets you download extra levels and such. And there are MANY extras to DL.

8. Xbox Live is ONLY Broadband.

9. Controller cables are over 9 feet long and break away if someone trips on them.

Minus

1. System is huge.

2. System is heavy.

3. It's made by Microsoft.

4. Older DVD Drives burn out. *Make sure you get one with the samsung drive*

5. No Keyboard or Mouse support.


PS2 (PS = Piece of Shit)

Plus

1. Plays PS 1 games (But ask yourself, how many of those pieces of crap will you play when you have a PS2?)

2. Thin and light.

3. Gets Grand Theft Auto series first.

4. USB ports.

Minus

1. Controllers suck ass.

2. Blue?

3. Most of the games are just rehashed from the same stuff for the past 5 years.

4. You have to buy a LAN adapter.

5. Is 56K compatible.

6. Online game quality sucks ass compared to Xbox Live (XBL)

7. Have to buy hard drive.


I spent a weekend with both, back when the Xbox first came out.

I am not disapointed in the least. The Xbox owns the PS2 in every way possible. The only issue I have with it, SERIOUSLY, is the fact that your "Feedback" in XBL doesn't do anything. I think if someone gets 4 or 5 complaints of cheating, they need to be looked at. Same with most of the other feedback there.

Xbox is good for first person shooters and Xbox live, the graphics show alot better in the xbox system. But its a brick and its too big. PS2 is good for RPGs, sports and fighting games. The online play is ehh. I work at gamestop and i hear both sides from customers on which is better. I like Xbox better right now b/c of the online play that ive been enjoying. the PS3 is said to come out 2006 and Xbox2 suppose to come out 2005? with a halo 3 as a promo. like they did when xbox first came out. Plus it really matters what games you're going to be playing is what system to pick.

XBox for sure. It gets many more high quality games, while PS2 is flooded with lots of games that aren't that good. If you like playing online, PS2 is prone to more cheating than XBL is right now.

The Xbox is good for anything.

The sports games on the Xbox look SO much better than on the Sony.

Also, the Xbox supports HDTV on many of it's games.

EA Sports is now doing it's entire lineup of games ON XBL.

I've played the clancy series on both systems, and it's a joke on the PS2.

There aren't a LOT of role playing games on the Xbox, but the ones they have are good. There are more coming.

Fock it, I got my PS2 at a pawn shop for $60..can't beat that... lol.gif They have Xbox's for $50 at the pawn shops over here...guess I'll have to buy one too.
