WOW is alright as long as it is controlled. If someone plays and does not have an uninterested party involved to control their usage they can get sucked in and lose track of time/reality. My kids play and when I tell them to get off they do it. I remember when I was a kid the big thing was the Zelda games, I would play for hours on end then wake up early the next day to do it again.

I'm dating myself here, but back in the day for me means Pong... But yea, when the new stuff came out I think everyone got hooked to something.

These days however, games are more involved which just mean we end up with even more mindless droids in the end.. It's that fact I dislike today..

There would be no arguing or anything like that. This is what happens when you have an undisciplined kid. Helicopter parents. Cut the power breaker to the outlet of the computer and be done with it. 2+ minutes of arguing with a parent.

At least with the original Nintendo if your parents didn't kick you off you would get Nintendo thumb and have to stop playing anyhow.

 

This is why you slap your children when they act out when young, then they don't do it when they are older.

My 17 year old isn't perfect, but he for sure knows when I'm serious and doesn't fight me at all.

You could always do it the really fun way if you don't want to dicipline your kid, go flip the circuit breaker for that section of the house. LOL
