if you were invited to be part of the witnesses to see a prisoner get executed by either gas or injection, would you do it? I dont think I would but who knows. It is a morbid and creepy thing to be apart of.

Not unless I had a personal stake in the case. I'm not against the death penalty, I just don't care.

I understand it brings closure to the victims. I never want to see anyone die but I'd like to see the real questions answered, "WHY". What drives people to such cruelty. I'd like to see research done, and questions answered. Apparently killing exists in human genes. Perhaps encoded by bloody history, maybe a self-destruct population-control switch or nature's way of creating diversity. Just some possible theories.

 

^^^I can understand killing being in someone's genes as it can be a residual reaction from a million years of evolution that a lot of people can't help. Same goes for a lot of rituals and emotions we still do/show. But, what in God's name would cause a pedophile to do what they do? No where in our evolution is that rational, nor does it help our species, the aggressor, or the victim. Just no sense in it at all.

 

I also wouldn't go out of my way to watch an execution unless I had some reason to care.
