Would you DD a mild exotic?

Any car not driven is a waste, unless it's actually rare and impossible or almost impossible to replace.
But make sure you have the insurance to cover it. 99% of people won't have the coverage necessary to replace those cars. Even if you sued them, you won't get it.

In the 100k range I would probably not DD it. Mostly because I don't really care about image, so I would buy something with good gas mileage and drive that around most of the time. I would bring out the fun car whenever I wanted though, not just on perfect weekend days with no rain on the 7 day forecast. Plus, if I spent around 100k it would be on something like an Exige S, Ariel Atom, or Caterham R500 which to varying degrees would be less than convenient daily drivers. Yes, I know that none of those cost 100k, but close enough.
I would consider a GT-R which would be more suitable for a DD, but still I probably wouldn't buy one, and if I did I would probably still have something more tame with better mileage for a DD. Probably a Corvette is the priciest car that I would DD unless I was spending my money on a luxury car instead of a sports car, which does not interest me. If I had a luxury car I would DD it.

The way i see it is that cars are built to be drive, there expensive, the more road worthy, not saying a good deal is not road worthy, but that is just how i see it. If i bought a sweet expensive car i would drive it daily to and from work, granted i would park like far away from other cars and etc. Yet, this is along the same lines as people that spend tons of money moding out a car, or just rebuilding one, and drive it maybe 5 times a year on weekends to walmart then back home. i see no point if you build a car drive the car, so if you purchase a car drive the car! JUST SAYIN! wink.gif

it would have to be driven. however, if i had 100K to spend on a DD, it wouldn't be some amplified BMW. it would be an Esprit V6.
