If he was alive today, would he be able to beat a Pro MMA fighter? You never heard anything about him being able to grapple or wrestle. He had crazy power and he was very fast, so if he was able to land a punch or kick to a fighters head, I think he would knock them out easily. But if they ever got him on the ground, he would probably tap out. He was small and scrawny too.

Small, yes. Scrawny, no. The dude was one solid wire rope of muscles. I bet he could take a hit, too, if somebody could manage to get inside his defense. But he was soooo fast and strong I think he would dominate everybody within 3 weight classes.

My opinion is that if he time traveled to today for the fight he would lose against about the top 25% of current pro level MMA fighters. I also think that if he had a minimal amount of prep time he would be able to dominate most if not all of the current MMA fighters. Some of this would depend on how well he could adapt to the possibility of grappling, and whether or not an effective strategy against his striking could be devised. He's THE badass of martial arts, but it was a time when being a badass martial artist didn't take a whole lot. He would be quicker than anyone fighting today, but it's tough to say how that would work out in a cage fight because it isn't known how well he could adapt working under those conditions.
