They do it with every new system. I must say that they utterly destroyed this one compared to the 360 last year.
They get donations from folks for a year or so prior and buy 2 systems, one to destroy in front of campers, the other to sell on ebay and (so I'm told), refund the donations.

Didn't that start with SmashMyIPOD.com? I think they did that to the 1st or 2nd iPod generation. It was a cheesy cut. They usually make it more dramatic. Check out http://smashmyviper.com/ They do the same thing to a dodge viper. Some dude trying to make money.
