Was just snooping around deals.woot.com and found this...

http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/2417f1...registration#22

They have a discussion about the following link.

http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts...us/default.aspx

Read the short discussion, and go buy yourself a copy of Windows 7 or Office 2007, or Office Visio, for DIRT CHEAP.

For only a few bucks more, you can get the hardcopy DVD sent.

I'm getting a copy for my wife's computer, office for mine, and maybe a copy of 7 for my desktop.

hey not to undercut anything you're saying, i can get a LEGIT free copy of windows 7 for free. Its because I am a student and my school has a special account or something with microsoft. Also becaues i'm a computer science major. lol but yeah a full 100% legit copy of windows 7 professional for free. Um it is a very and i mean a very large file so it'd take a while but it'll come with the product key and the iso file.

Yeah, some folks posted about that in the discussion area.

No idea who you'd talk to at the school though.

I've still got an EDU account, but I'm not a current student, so this will work for me, my wife IS a current student with a EDU account, so she can though, so if you have more info, let us know.

My wife works for Vanderbilt, so she's got an edu account I can use.

azngoose - do you know how to set up a torrent? If we kept it local (our site only) I'd help distribute.

Majik

Um no idea sorry. LOL yeah a cs major that doesn't know much about torrents lol but yeah I'm not too familar with torrents. Um yeah but definitely we could try something. Because its a school relationship with microsoft through MSDNAA (some kind of development thing for microsoft) and that's how i'm able to get windows 7 and a bunch of other programs like vista, xp sp3, some office programs too i believe and some more. They didn't indicate any kind of download limit or so, so I'm sure I can download 7 as many times as i want (i hope) but yeah if you really wanna try it out.

REDZ

Yeah but I guess its a little different from just having an edu account. It's mainly directed towards the engineering students at my school so that's how I have that kind of connection with that. Oh and I don't really need to talk to anybody because I already have an account. I just download it when I want. I hope this gives you a better idea of the thing. I can try and answer any other questions you might have.
