It's not a black & white issue. While I completely agree with the initial speaker's point of view, I have talked my way out of getting arrested in the past. Not out of the crime itself (excessive speed) for which I paid the price, but if I didn't open my mouth and chose to exercise my Fifth Amendment Rights I would have been booked in jail and my car impounded.
It was a gamble, but it worked.
