This is why I bought the truck
Some old lady pulled out in front of me and I slammed on my brakes. I missed hitting the car, but the Harley Davidson behind me didn't stop in time. I don't think he was paying attention because he hit me almost full speed. As big as the truck is, I still felt it a lot. He was hurt pretty bad, and may have broken his leg, but they say he'll be ok. Spectators waiting for a bus saw the whole thing. They said he did a pretty big face plant. The bike went under my truck, then flipped up to bend my fender. The bumper is also bent, and the tailgate is slightly tweaked.
This is why I bought the truck. The Z was totalled just 5 months ago by someone not paying attention and rear-endeding me. The truck is banged up, but it will be fine again. The Tib would not have survived. Anyone that takes good care of their vehicle will always lose when it gets totalled. I wanted something that would survive.

Got the estimate. $3300 in damage, from a BIKE! Damn.
Here's the bumper I'm looking at getting. It will have the steps on the side, 4" lamps, holes for the reverse sensors, and I plan to weld shackle mounts in each side.
The only difference is that the shop said they can order it without the lamp holes, then drill out the stupid logos and put the lamps there to cover them up. Then I'll have more room for shackle mounts.

Oh yea, about the biker. His insurance rep said he was busy looking at the interection for other dangers and didn't see me stopped just past it.
I asked how the guy was and he's still in the hospital. He said he'll be out riding again someday. I said "someday? You mean not soon???" He said yea, the guy suffered a few broken bones and is on medication. It'll be a while, but he will be riding again.
