Guy in the red car for swerving at the last minute and not slowing down or the guy in the silver car for sitting in the lane?

Red car for sure. The silver car might have been broken down and couldnt get over into the median. The red car should have braked further in advance. Almost looks like he wasnt paying attention until the last minute before he swerved out of the way. But the driver with the camera shouldnt have been following as close as he was.

I would say the guy who hit the silver car. I hate when people ride my ass and he was doing that to the red car. Yeah, the red car should have slowed down, but maybe he didn't realize the silver car was stopped until the last minute. Has happened to me in rush hour countless times. I'd say the red car did the right thing, and if the guy following was following at the proper distance, he would have had time to react as well.

Literally everyone.

Silver car should have pulled over. At some point it was rolling and they chose to stop in the stupidest possible place.

Red car should have been paying attention, I would hate to think he would have intentionally tried to make the camera car hit someone. I suppose it's possible though.

Camera car shouldn't have been following so close. Looks like the frame rate is off by a bit but about a half a second following distance is never okay.

The truck in the next lane should have seen this coming and gotten over a lane to help prevent an accident.

I would say that the biggest a**hole award would have to go to the silver car though. Get the hell off the road while your broke down POS is still rolling.

Props to the red car for not hitting the guardrail when swerving around the silver car. That was a small gap

Camera car. Followed too close. Completely at fault and most of the time the authorities really don't care what the other two were doing. You MUST have control of your vehicle. He didn't.

This. So much this.

187SKS sometimes cars stop being able to be driven faster than a driver can get them out of the lanes of travel. You never know what happened to make a car stop dead on the highway.

**

tangentially-related anecdote: One of my wife's previous cars (long since wrecked, thankfully totalled) had GM electronics gremlins. Our flavor was rear doors that wouldn't always sense closure properly and re-open without being commanded, and sometimes the radio and half the steering wheel would just not wake up until the key was cycled off-on again. Well one of the other flavors of crap in that model car was some people would have their rear doors slide open going down the highway. Others (here's the related part) would have the ABS freak out at highway speed and set ONE wheel to lockup for no apparent reason. Try driving that off to the shoulder of the road.
