Thoughts?
Like many, we are interested in the potential marijuana may have in providing relief to individuals diagnosed with certain serious illnesses. That is why we ardently support ongoing research into determining what components of the marijuana plant can be used as medicine. To date, however, neither the FDA nor the Institute of Medicine have found smoked marijuana to meet the modern standard for safe or effective medicine for any condition.
As a former police chief, I recognize we are not going to arrest our way out of the problem. We also recognize that legalizing marijuana would not provide the answer to any of the health, social, youth education, criminal justice, and community quality of life challenges associated with drug use.

my thoughts are how the use of alcohol/liquor and cigarettes is completely OK in the eyes of our government but they seem to have require a medicinal use or something to legalize weed?
are cigarettes, cigars, chewing tabacco, etc. medicinal? NO are they proven to cause cancer, be addictive and ruin the health of the user? YES?
alcohol/liquor... medicinal? not so much... Can we say DWI/DUI drunk driver death issues nationwide? among many other things like liver damage..

Harder to tax.. IMO that is the big reason against it. Not many can make decent alcohol and if you dry tobacco wrong you can kill people, or so I read somewhere, lol. Who can grow weed? Its a freaking weed.. lol. Can't tax it if people grow it themselves.. so.. ITS BAD Mmmkay.
