The wife said...

Uhm... The longest I've stayed up for was like 3 days straight. It doesn't count though, that's when I was having my baby.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 to 45 hours for me.

I came in to work in the morning to notice one of the database servers tanked in the middle of the night.
I pent most of that day tracking down a hard drive for it, getting the hard drive (had to drive 200 miles to get it) install the hard drive, and then restore all of our backups.

After staying up that long you start to go insane. I swear I was constantly seeing things out of the corner of my eye. What really sucked is I commute about 40 miles to work every day, so I ended up sleeping at the Credit Union, under the desk in an unoccupied office (I was too insane to drive.)

ive staid up longer than a month before.
Sorry mad but i'vve got to raise the BS flag on that one, dont remember the exact numbers but I believe after 3 days your brain starts to shut down,...let me do some research here we go...
info retrieved from Buena Vista University

In Humans hallucination show up at day 4 and its down hill from there

In rats they went even further
QUOTE
death - all experimental animals (but no control animals) died after 11-32 days of deprivation
obviously they wouldnt puch a human that far but I think this casts doubt on the mad hatters claim
