Default What are you up to (BS thread)

Hey, I don't know what anybody's up to anymore it doesn't seem like.

Feel free to comment on things in here and/or update with what you've got going on.

My divorce still isn't final, it will be 2 years separated next month though. Just haven't filed the paperwork.

I have the stock suspension back on the red Accent and sticker bombed hood v. 2.0. I ran 2 autox events last year before deciding I couldn't afford to run a season. I also ran a drift event in the Miata.

I'm working in an environmental laboratory operating an Ion Chromatograph.

What are you up to?

In the last year, both my counterpart and my supervisor were fired, so now I'm doing their jobs while they hire staff positions for me to train. I anticipate a promotion within the next month or so.

Also in the last year, I've obtained three certifications:

CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional

CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor

ACDA - ACL Certified Data Analyst

Last week I took the GMAT and I should know soon whether Auburn University is going to accept me into their Online MBA program. If they don't, I'll be attending Belmont University locally. My employer will be paying for almost all of Auburn, but if I don't get in then they may pay for ~75% of Belmont.

The Genesis is at a stand still for now. I'll be getting a few small things, like a catless O2 housing, a tune to accompany it, and maybe sway bars, but beyond that I don't know that there's much else I want to do. I'm maxed out on power unless I upgrade the turbo. Maybe I'll sell my oversized GTR wheels and buy some 18s so the power can actually be put to the pavement.

Looks like you're moving forward nicely! Good luck on the promotion!

yeah, I've been busting my ass the last year at work and that's been the biggest reason for my lack of activity here. The 6 years prior, I was simply coasting through and enjoying life. It's like I'm making up for lost time, and then some.

I've been trying extreme sports a lot, too. I love scuba diving and got certified two years ago. I went sky diving last year and it was definitely an experience - jumping out of a plane at 14,000 feet. This year I'm going through an intro flight course and will actually fly a plane (temporarily) and see how I like it. I doubt I'll invest the tens of thousands of dollars to actually get my license, but we shall see.

I see that sh*t on CSI TV shows. You're trying to build the next HULK, aren't you?

Lol. That's one model up from my instrument. I run a Metrohm 881 Compact IC Pro. That's my autosampler on the right though.

I perform EPA 300.0 analyses for flouride, chloride, nitrate, nitrite, orthophosphorus, and sulfate. I also perform EPA 300.1 analyses for bromate, bromide, chlorate, and chlorite. I developed and implemented our SOP for EPA 300.1.

I also occasionally do biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, total/dissolved/volatile/settleable solids, pH, turbidity, total/fecal coliform, E. Coli, conductivity, and alkalinity.
