Yeah. For security system I choose combination of electronical (alarm) and mechanical (that lock).
I have gearbox lock with metal pin (don't know how it's called in English - metal stick, that holds one of the cable that is attached to shifter). But there are also mechanical systems that also lock shifter in rear gear but it doesn't use that pin (metal stick), it's easier and a bit quicker to use, but it's twice more expensive that mine.
I paid $110 with instalation.

ive got this wierd climbing hook with an led light on one end or corner of it, with a crap ton of keys to both my cars, the shop, home, school etc, and a gerber one sided lil knife, and a harley key chain. Its a huge messy pile... wink1.gif

But I have this little watch keychain thing with my name engraved on it... that I broke..., a thing that says "MY FOOT AND YOUR ASS NEED TO MEET", my house key, my Tib key, a little obnoxious red light, and my Viper alarm keychain thing.
