Heyall,
Just the HellBilly coming back from limbo and I felt like asking... what have you all done to promote and bring in people to HA.ORG lately?
A forum in order to survive must grow, some of the bad seeds come with the good, but that is why we have a strong moderator group here. One that respects the membership as a whole and can help temper down those that get out of line, or just get rid of them. With larger memberships come more vendorships (yeah I just did that), which means more opportunities for parts for the Hyundai community as a whole. As all of us know trustworthy vendors in the Korean Aftermarket parts world is tough to find. They are out there, but you have to make it lucrative to them. Plus with expanded membership comes more knowledge, or even more locals you find out about that could start good friendships.
I'm not saying to go out and try and steal people away from whatever forum they are on and start a forum war. But be that person that sees another Hyundai enthusiast whether online, or on the streets and tell them about HA.ORG. Let's expand our community and keep it growing, and by default the forums that suck, name again being withheld but has the initials GC in its title, will die off without a single shot having to be fired.
Kill 'em with kindness...

HA has always had the reputation of being a more laid back and fun community versus other forums. We're helpful and we dont put people down or make them feel stupid. The criticism that we do have towards members is designed to help and mentor. None of this "You're gay and you should blow up your car!" bullshit.
So that alone has always brought in a large member base from other communities because people know they can get good advice here without feeling like failures. And we have a pretty open policy about certain topics like religion, politics, etc. Try and have a discussion about those topics on other forums, and it will either turn into a sh*t storm or the topic will get locked immediately. Have a discussion here, and it will actually be a mature and someone sophisticated discussion without anyone feelings getting hurt.
HA will be turning 13 years old in a couple of weeks. There's a reason why we have been able to maintain that length of operation that long where as other sites have died within a few years.

It's this type of ideology that keeps a forum alive, 13 years... damn bro. Something to be said about that kind of longevity. Yeah this community is more of what a forum should be, and is why I stick around.
Life is too full of other bullshit to come online and have to deal with it. Forums should be informational, and fun.

I direct new australian hyundai owners toward four resources:
-hyper australia (local forum for cruises and what have you)
-hyundai aftermarket
-hma service
-hyspares.com
They're the best tools for a Hyundai owner to keep their pile running, that's the plain truth.
