The Overview:

QUOTE
Grande Prairie is the main city in the northwestern part of the province of Alberta in Western Canada. It is located on the southern edge of the Peace River Country (part of the Peace Region or simply "The Peace", as is often locally known, which encompasses much of northwestern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia). The city is surrounded by Grande Prairie County. The city of Grande Prairie is one of Canada's fastest growing cities and as of its 2007 civic census, its population was 50,227, up 6.9% from the Canada 2006 Census figure of 47,076. As of 2006, the population of the Grande Prairie Census Agglomeration was at 71,868[3] (The census agglomeration has now been expanded to cover the entire County of Grande Prairie). It is currently Alberta's 7th largest incorporated city by population. Grande Prairie is the largest city between Edmonton and Fairbanks, Alaska along the Highway 43, Alaska and a portion of the Richardson Highway (Alaska) routes. It lies about 460 km (286 mi) and 2,480 km (1,541 mi) from each city respectively.

The city has adopted the endangered Trumpeter swan as an official symbol because it is near the migration route and summer nesting grounds of this large and graceful swan. For that reason, Grande Prairie is sometimes nicknamed the "Swan City".

Interesting fact that wasn't on there: Our population is listed on the census as around 84,000. Due to our huge Oil and Gas industry, our population is actually somewhere around 95,000. People come in from other parts of the country, especially Newfoundland, to work here, while they officially live elsewhere. For the last several years, our average rent has gone up about 30% each year, while the available housing goes down.

Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and lies at the western end of the heavily populated Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. Windsor is located directly south of Detroit and is separated from that city by the Detroit River. The city has views of the Detroit skyline. Windsor-Detroit is the busiest commercial border crossing in North America, with the Ambassador Bridge carrying 27 percent of the total trade between the U.S. and Canada.[1] The region marks the only border crossing where entering the mainland United States from Canada involves travelling north. The current mayor of Windsor is Eddie Francis.

In the 2006 Canadian census, the city had a population of 218,473 and its official metropolitan area (consisting of Windsor, Tecumseh, Amherstburg, LaSalle and Lakeshore) had a population of 323,342[4]. In March 2007, Statistics Canada released the latest census information and metropolitan Windsor's population had grown 7.3% since 2001[5].

Montreal, or Montréal in French, (pronounced /ˌm'̃ɾeˈal/ (help·info) in Quebec French, pronounced /ˌmʌntriːˈ'ːl/ (help·info) in Canadian English, and /ˌm"̃ʀeˈal/ (help·info) in European French) is the second-largest city in Canada and the largest city in the province of Quebec. Originally called Ville-Marie ('City of Mary'), some historians think the city takes its present name from the Mont Réal (as it was pronounced in Middle French [5], or Mont Royal / Mount Royal in present French), the three-head hill at the heart of the city, whose name was also initially given to the island on which the city stands.

Formerly the largest city in Canada, it is now known as the second largest French-speaking city in the world.[6] As of the 2006 Canadian Census, 1,620,693 people resided in the city of Montreal proper.[1] The population of the Montreal Census Metropolitan Area (also known as Greater Montreal Area) was 3,635,571 at the same 2006 census. In the census metropolitan area, French is the language most spoken at home by 70.5% of the population (as of 2006 census).[7] In 2007, Montreal was ranked as the 10th cleanest city in the world.[8] Montreal is ranked as a "gamma" or "minor world city" by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network (GaWC).

There is alot of stuff on Montreal.

Long Island: overpriced, over populated, overtaxed, over polluted, infested with snobs, infested with illegal immigrants, world class beaches.

I swear I'm not making that up.

Ok, some of it I'm not.

"Long Island had a population of 7,448,618 as of the 2000 census,[1] with the population estimated at 7,559,372 as of July 1, 2006, making it the most populated island in any U.S. state or territory. It is also the 17th most populous island in the world, ahead of Ireland, Jamaica and the Japanese island of Hokkaidō[citation needed]. Its population density is 5,470 people per square mile (2,110 per km²)."

"Long Island is known for its affluence and high quality of life. According to the 2000 Census, Nassau County is the third richest county per capita in New York State, and the thirtieth richest in the nation. Suffolk County is known for beach towns, including the world-renowned Hamptons, and for the most eastern part of the Island, Montauk Point, home of Montauk Point Lighthouse."

"The counties of Nassau and Suffolk have long been renowned for their affluence. Long Island has a very high standard of living with residents paying some of the highest property taxes in the country. Rich people drive out the middle class. Young couples cant afford to buy homes on Long Island."

Which is why I'm leaving!

Long Island has been mentioned on the animated comedy Futurama many times, for example: on the Mother's Day episode, Walt comes back to the House and says "Hurry! The robots have taken Suffolk County".

LOL!!! Seems like it!

and, we also got stuck with Billy Joel. Definitely hell on earth.
