Well, it's time to fill you guys in on where I've been.
1. I bought my first house!
2. I bought my first boat!
3. Bad economy my ass. lol
I took a major vacation from the car scene. I needed to come up with quite a bit of money for down payment and just barely made it in time for closing. It was pretty tough and took quite a bit of self control. The Tib sat in the driveway under a cover the whole time, and when it was time to drive it to the new place, I got that urge again. lol I'm kinda glad the piston/rods didn't sell, and I didn't take the lowball offers since I'm thinking of putting the block back together.
I'm still unpacking from the house, but we've been there for 3 weeks now. I'm really enjoying it. The duplex I was in wasn't in the best neighborhood, and was cramped. I wanted to move to a place where I felt safe, so I bought one of the smallest houses in the neighborhood which I could afford. I'm now the trash of the neighborhood. lol
I dont' have a recent pic, but this one is mostly done.
I figured that since I'm getting $8k back from the gov't for the new homebuyer tax credit, I should buy myself another toy. Boats these days are going for next to nothing with the bad economy in several areas. I found the exact boat I wanted in Jackson MS. A Catalina 25, tall rig, wing keel, in great condition. I drove to Jackson to pick it up and meet the boat hauler. I rented an Elantra and got 33mpg. It was nice.
Now, I have question for you all. Hopefully I won't have to post this in the audio forum. I went on my first sail on the 4th and found that I need a radio. I'd like it to play DVD's, but not have a screen. I want to put the screens somewhere else. It should also play MP3's and have Ipod hookup. These kind of players are hard to find, so hopefully someone has a recommendation.

Heya bro, same BOAT as a bunch of us (Pun Intended). I too just bought my first house and used my Obama Freebie Money (Thanks for voting him in folks, now I didn't have to earn my Washer/Dryer/Refrigerator/Couch/Home Theater!) to get it setup. Pics are also coming. House looks nice, but 2 stories make my knees hurt. LOL Get some inside pics!
Go check out the ABQ BBQ thread and see if you can make it this year, it's actually NOT in ABQ, and we are having it earlier than usual.
Good to see you are getting the bug again, as soon as I can pick up another vehicle I'll be doing the same.
As for your stereo issue, check out the last few threads I put up about them a few months back. I found some nice JVC ones that do what you want, AND display the DVD/Video on the 2.5 or 3.5 inch screen on the deck. Really a neat unit when it comes down to it, and cheap!
