Well I finally did it...
Well, I am glad everyone has taken interest in my computer again.
When I bought it a year ago it wasn't top of the line but it was pretty up to date. More PC then I will ever need but it should last me several years.
BTW anyone who is looking at buying a new PC and is considering a DELL....DON'T!!! There customer service sucks and their tech support are all idiots. (at least all the ones I delt with)

I don't think Rob is Tech support for Dell anymore. But he was the one that warned me that they are all idiots anyway. Maybe if I would have talked to Rob when I was having troubles then it would have been fixed. Most of you who have been around a while already know what happened. Long story short what should have taken a day to fix took a couple months.
Oh well, My neighbor is my new tech support now

I broke down and ordered a real computer from Dell.
I ordered a 4100 series Pentium III and 1gig.
I kinda cried when it came to spending that much $$$ (1/2 a turbo) sad.gif but when I get it in aprox a week I will prolly fughetaboutit
This will be my first real computer and I will be able to ditch the web TV and and join the Y2K
Any one wanna buy a WebTv? rolleyes.gif
Hey Auto, return the dell. Go to your local computer store, and have them custom build you one. You won't have to worry about it becoming obsolete. I built a Athlon 650 mhz system, compared to most here my system is old. But all I have to do is change out my motherboard and processor and bam. Iam up to date for a fraction of the price of a new sytem. But I guess it also depends on what you are going to use your system for as well. If you are just using it for the net, then you will be fine. Please tell me you didn't buy it because of that dork on TV. Dude your getting a dell! Heres my response Dude keep the dell, I am banging your girlfriend instead!! I broke down and ordered a real computer from Dell.

Jaws, I can't return it, I bought it a year ago. sad.gif And HELL NO I didn't buy it because of the fag on TV. He wasn't there at the time. The computer itslelf does fine. Just don't buy one because you think you will get superior support. I also used to get emails from them all the time. Then after I started complaing on the surveys, they stopped sending me e-mails. I wonder what that is all about? Seems to me they know there service sux but just don't want to deal with it.

Oh geez.....
Printer would not work with the the software (Originally was Win ME) they would bump me off to epson but since it was a software prob, epson wouldn't help me.
Other multiple problems due to Win ME (need I say more?)
The biggy was when I moved to Mn. I had to swithch to Dial up when i lived with my G-ma.
Well my dial up modem would not work. No biggy, sh!t happens. Well Dell decided to send a Tech out to replace the modem.(So far so good) I explained to them that I no longer lived in Ga that I moved to Mn. (still no probs) The guy took my new addy and phone # and sent out the service call. (Here is where the trouble start)
The next day I get a call from the service guy. He was confused why he got a service call to a Mn addy when is in Savanna Ga. (Long story short they changed everthing except the Zip code) and after I explained it to him, he said he would put the new call in for me. (At this point I am not upset and actually thought it was humorous)
Well I wait a couple days (I am patient) and still no new call. So I call Dell back and they tell me that the tech never put a new call in because there is no way for him to be able to do that. Ok fine So I explained again my new addy to the new tech and he said he would fix the Zip code and send out a new call. I wait a couple days and no call. SOooooooooo I call again. Apparently that tech still left my old zip code in the system so the call went back down to Ga. Now I am a little upset but still not pissed.
After several phone calls over several weeks each time explaining that they have my OLD zip code and each time they claimed they fixed it only to find out later they still had my old Zip code.
My last series of phone calls I was pissed. I was yelling at the tech telling him that if they did not have my PC fixed by the next day that I would bash them all over these boards explaining to them that I was an admin for hp.com which had several thousand members and that there were other boards that I am also a member of (like this one) and that I would make sure everyone I knew would know of my problems with their piss poor customer service. So he handed me over to his boass and I told her the same thing.
At this point they finally got it right (only took a couple months)
I am sure I left some out because it was about 9 months ago this happened. But I still tell people not to buy a Dell because they think they have great customer service. Thats why I bought one and it turned out to be a waste.
BTW, I no longer have Win ME and now have Xp.
I also removed all the crappy Dell software.

I guess their requirments to be a tech is to be able to turn the computer on rolleyes.gif Well I am glad you have it straighten out. Here a new caught phrase. Dude, don't buy a f*cking Dell!!I am running ME myself, I haven't had any problems with it. Thats why I haven't upgraded to XP yet. I bet you the reason you had problem with it was because, DELL intertwined their crappy software into it.
