Thought I'd share this with you guys.

There is a really nasty worm being spread through AIM via a link. I don't want to post the link, but it contains an image (it won't load up on the webpage). It will ask you to Run or Save or the program. The worm causes your computer to crash to blue screen everytime you start it up. So make sure your virus definitions are up to date! Norton has a fix and I'm sure McAfee has it too.

There is a catch, see - this is where I didn't catch it. It's being spread through Buddy Lists. My friend clicked the link, ran it, and it sent the link to EVERYONE on his buddy list. I clicked it because it was from my friend (ugh). The worm then sent the link to 45 of my friends. I quickly realized what it was and sent warnings to all my friends about it. Thankfully no-one clicked it.

The address starts with img. So just be very careful about what you click!

a few hours too late :-/ I got this last night, noticed that it was sending it to everyone on my buddy list because all the expanded lists started to close. This is kinda ironic and I wonder if it has something to do with it but last night my router decided to give up on me. Oh well, hopefully linksys will warranty it.

I never click AIM links w/o confirming who sent it. I need to teach the fiance the same thing...second time she has nailed the computer.
