So my Ex-girlfriends jealous Ex-boyfriend keeps f***ing with my car. About 3 months ago when me and her were still together he kicked my quarter panel in and sliced 2 of my tires. Which was $1700 worth of damage. We ended up breaking up so I figured he was done, well randomly last week I woke up with a rock through my driver side window. So I went to her and said "You better get your boyfriend away from my car" (btw she cheated on me with this kid, that's why we broke up). I got just got the window replaced 2 days ago. The kids he hangs out with drive loud ass Hondas (imagine that), so last night when I was on the shoutbox I heard a loud ass honda outside, it turns out he through two rocks at my car and busted one of my taillights out. The cops basically say there's not enough evidence to do anything about it so suck it up. It seems like he wants a war, but my thing is if I do anything he's just gonna come back twice as hard and eventually total my car or somethin, plus I don't want to jeopardize my future ... I can't afford these damages anymore, What would you guys suggest I do?
Stand outside with a 12gauge fing02.gif
Or find a set of spike strips...
In all seriousness tho definitly get a video camera and catch him in the act and make sure you get a close up on the liscense plate.

Well, this is just me, but I would wait outside and kick the shit out of them, but I myself have a clean record and don't have much to worry about.
Oh, and the videotaping would work too, just don't tape kicking the shit out of them, that wouldn't go well in court.
And yes, i know, my way isn't the proper way.

Tape it, then make them pay all the damage and what was done in the past. If you have a scratch somewhere, make it worse and say they keyed it (if you have all the proof of them messing with it) Make them pay big.
ORRRR you set him up.

you can roll the cost of the camera into the court case when you have the bastard on film destroying your car. I know in PA you can take someone for up to 10k in small claims court.
Is the car parked on the road or in a driveway. You may want to look up Ohio Castle law and see if they have it. In Pa you are justified by law ( never hold up to a jury) for dropping someone for toilet papering your house. Your state may vary.
Or you can Abstract it to newtons law of inertia.

we have three cameras outside, they just need to get within 5ft and we could see them but they are throwing rocks from out of the camera's range. We saw the car drive by the camera twice, so we know who it is but the cop said it's worthless without face recognition.. When I heard the civic I went out with a wrench that looks something like this lol.

Yeah I park it in the driveway, we've decided we're going to park the van behind my car so they have to get closer to the car hopefully getting them on camera.. what you think?

has there been a pattern in terms of times that these guys show up? you said parking the van in front of the carso they can get closer so your cameras can pick them up but i am thinking a more sneakier way.
you guys live in whitetail deer country and i am sure you have a bass pro, sportsmans paradise, or even a cabelas near you. this is a pricey way but pick up a infrared game camera that has at least 5mp capability. these cameras can be set for certain range footage also and also have the abilities of 60 seconds of video time. some of the cameras are so good that you can actually read name tags on peoples clothes.
yeah, you could probably go into 500 bucks for buying one, depending on which one you get, but when you catch these pricks you could add the price of the camera into the overal repair prices. todays survaillence cameras are the same way, you pay for what you get and when you are trying to make sure you get the face, you pay for better optics.
