i think you did a great job. i wish i could be so nice and understanding to my younger siblings when i was with them

 

You are doing fine Homey. That you care is something special. You earn my respect for seeing beyond yourself......that is a rare enough gift. I think you can safely continue to be yourself.
She will need as much of what's normal as she needs the explaining. Talk plenty and listen plenty....from what I read there you don't actually need telling how to do this at all. That's not denying you the right to need to ask. It's only fair that you get to ask some questions too.

It's fine to be sad, it's fine to cry, it's fine to laugh, it's a shame to despair....but we do...sometimes....just for a lil while. It takes time to adapt to how things are....but moms always want their kids to be happy. Spend as much effort as you can on happy...and the stray cat called sad will come and go as it pleases.
