Those of you that know Jeremy (Redzman)...keep his family in your thoughts. Here's a quick quote from his post on S.H.
And an update:

Been a bit short today, and probably won't be here much the rest of the day at all, or possibly tomorrow either.
We stayed at a Casino last night to go have a good time, and were woken up at 6AM with my wife's phone going crazy. Her parents are missionaries in Kenya. They were driving up near Somalia I think, on their way to some tribal wedding, and some bandits attacked. An AK 47 round, 7.62x39mm, went through the drivers window, missing her dads head by an inch or so, and striking her mother in the thigh, shattering her femur.
They sped away from the ambush, and got to a safe area to get medically evacuated via airplane on a dirt road. She just got out of her first surgery and is in traction, trying to keep infection from coming in. Their 2 adopted kids (Americans) were there, and helped keep pressure on the wound, and applied a tourniquet.
Anyways, there is a lot going on, and I may not be here much the next few days. Give Lizgiggles your best wishes.

Got an update this morning.
She's in serious but stable condition in Nairobi Kenya. They did her first surgury yesterday, removing damaged tissue, bone and bullet fragments, and putting pins in place. She is in traction in the ICU for the forseable future.
She lost 4 inches of her femur, and from what I gather the femoral artery was not damaged. Tomorrow she goes in for the next surgery, to clean the wound out and start whatever else they do in cases like this.
I think they are not going to make it back for my son's graduation now.
Thanks for the support everyone, lots of folks don't like their in-laws, but I truly love mine.

Wow, that's HORRIBLE! I'm sorry to hear it. I hope it comes out as well as it can at this point. It'll be a tough recovery but it sounds like considering the situation it could have been a lot worse.
