i'm assuming u're talking about weather. and, yes. it's too early. rims can get easily damaged, and putting them through winter isn't a smart idea. if you put a kit on the car, you better have a winter car. the thought of driving a car year round w/ a kit would be rather assinine...

for rims, wait til better weather, and mount snows on your stock ones for a simple changeover at year end. put on a kit and don't drive in winter. it's common sense. you put money into a project, don't let something like weather ruin that investment

i think the snow is gone for the year...as the weather have been over 35 for over a week and for the upcoming week as well...so i'm 99% sure there is no more snow but just rain...as for damaging rims...rims can get damage just as easy in the summer as in the winter...and of course a winter car is a must for next year but if there isnt any more snow an the weather is just getting warmer...i assumed it would be alright

I would wait until Mid-March, however, if you put it in the shop now, after fitment, painting, and bringing it out, it might be March by the time you get it back. I wouldn't do it just because a freshly painted car doesn't like road salt, so if any snow comes or threatens, I wouldn't drive my freshly painted car for a week or so.

Do what you'd like... but I'd wait a few more weeks. Wait until you can bring it out and show it off in the nice weather, and make sure everything's ready to go on in the meantime.

I disagree with Shark01Racing... drive your car whenever. I've put a lot of money into my car and take care of it, I don't garage it during the winter months. I would personally wait until mid-march or the end of March before putting on wheels... or just do it all at once (wheels and body kit). Which body kit by the way?

Well, thinking about rims.. I usualy toss mine on, depending on 3 things..
1) you see some guy driving a 'classic muscle car' (71 ' charger.. 67 mustang.. etc)
2) after some good rain storms, to remove the salt.. (hence see above)
3) Being here in canada, I wait for the may 24th weekend( some queen birthday or something rather then.. just a reason to drink really)

As far as a body kit goes, i would say late spring..

dont do it untill may... that is when companys come out and fix all the pot holes... and the salt will be washed away..... that does fu*k up kits very badly if you dont take care of it..

Hell, i am from canada, and some guy at my school has been driving his 2001 acura, with a kit, that daddy bought him all year round, doesnt seem to care. But when you dont pay fro anything i guess you dont care, i am putting my rims and body kit on most likely over spring break (march 15-22) or something depending of weather...laugh.gif, street sweepers are usually out by then...

I see you are from Ohio, at least wait untill march break time.

I am waiting untill april before putting my goodies on my car.

I remember last year when I put my rims on in Mid-March. We got a hell of a winter storm in early April. I quickly drove home and swapped my rims back to the stockers for a couple of more weeks.

April seems so far away.
