What temperature do you keep your thermostat at? I usually keep mine on between 68-70 when I'm home. At night or when I'm not home, I turn it down to 64. I have a digital thermostat that I can program, so it turns itself up before I get home from work.

I heat house with fire in natural gas furnace right next to cooling coils, right next to central air blower.

72 is as cold as I like it

We have forced hot air hooked into the natural gas lines, so leaving the thermostat at 62 makes the house stay at 68.......love it!

Good thing your not livin in Cali... stupid "no burn days" seems to be all winter long. And the way they do the commercials about the law is almost teaching neighbors to snitch on those that burn wood on the "no burn days".

Here we don't have no burn days unless you have more than one heat source in your home. But, we also don't have smog.

^^^^ You're crazy. This is me at work. *sitting in a refrigerator with a puny little space heater under my feet* *coworker walks in* (shared office). "It's hot in here!" *look at thermometer I brought in from work. Pegged on 65 degrees* *find another winter coat*

We have a heat pump, so I keep it right at about 70 degrees all the time. Moving the thermostat up more than about 2 degrees causes the "emergency heat" to come on, which takes a LOT of energy. Keeping it consistent is better for us. During the summer the air is usually at 80.
