The whole situation regarding US involvement this bold is a complete 180 from what Obama promised 6 years ago. His motivation is as transparent as windex laden glass, but no one (DC, media, etc) seems to have the balls to call him on it. World War 3 is upon us, like it or not. And this time, though not surprisingly, we are the aggressor.

It's about time to get rid of the NFA altogether. Especially the Hughes Amendment! If this county is going to be invaded, and there is a very distinct possibility within our life-times, the people need to be armed and trained.

Said like a true ignoramus. The answer is not to get rid of capitalism, it is to get the government out of the middle of it. Capitalism has liberated and fed more people than any other method of government. The opposite, collectivism, has killed at least a hundred million innocent people in the last century.

Why is health care expensive? Because government said everybody should have access to insurance. When people used to pay for their own care, for the most part they could afford it. Now that nobody pays, knows, or cares what care costs, the costs have skyrocketed because "somebody else" pays. The ultimate "someone else pays" is "government pays" which equals "take private profit and give it to somebody else in the form of subsidized medical care." Now that there will be Obamacare mandating the companies insure everybody for everything at rates that make it unprofitable, the private insurance companies will leave the business. Then you will find out just how great socialized medicine is, complete with delayed, rationed and DENIED health care. AND the same number of people will STILL not insurance as before the law was rammed through.

As for Syria, this is the ultimate example to date of a situation out of which we should stay. The ONLY reason to go in is to try to save face for Obama, and I'd rather see his face stamped in than have WWIII because he couldn't admit that sometimes you just need to let your enemies kill each other.

And now, I'm through with this thread and I'll let the internet argument continue without me.

who said anything about it being expensive?

i was talkin about how INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE ABLE TO f*cking POSTPONE CARE. why am i ranting about this? because my brother, who has cancer, had to wait 6 months to get treatment.

6 f*cking months.

now instead of investing in polices that actually help people that pay goddam taxes in the first place, lets continue spending 650 BILLION dollars "liberating" people who dont want us there.

EVERYTHING is expensive in this country for ONE reason. Public ownership. Companies with shareholders are REQUIRED not only to be profitable, but to show quarterly "profit growth". This means either prices go up or costs go down. What's the number one place where cuts are made? Labor. Ship it overseas, demand pay cuts or lower benefits or eliminate higher paying jobs and replace them with lower paying ones. This is why nobody's had a real raise since 1972 ( http://www.middleclasspoliticalecono...low-their.html )( http://www.economicpopulist.org/cont...-are-have-nots ). Am I saying companies should be government owned? NO. I'm saying companies should be owned by a sole proprietor or small partnerships. I'm also saying commodities should only be traded by suppliers and users. There should be no middle men.

Every time money changes hands, someone wants their cut.

Who Benefits From A War Between The United States And Syria?

If a full-blown war erupts between the United States and Syria, it will not be good for the United States, it will not be good for Israel, it will not be good for Syria, it will not be good for Iran and it will not be good for Hezbollah. The party that stands to benefit the most is Saudi Arabia, and they won't even be doing any of the fighting.

Partially true.

Pardon the

I have done a lot of research on the topic of healthcare expenses in this country, and the number one issue... and I know this is going to piss a LOT of people off... starts AT the government. My first exposure to this was when my wife worked for a company (which shall remain unnamed) in the accounting department. Numbers do not lie. Supplier of "Drug X," required for certain high dollar procedures, charges $25 a go for their medication. Now the procedure that the Company Y has to perform with said drug, costs the company roughly $75 to perform, and in order to cover the remaining overhead back at the head office they have to charge an additional $10 (because people have to be paid to staff that building, and they require electricity, running water, etc. to perform their jobs.) So from a cost only perspective this lifesaving procedure costs Company Y a total of $110. HOWEVER this procedure in question, is one that is often required by the elderly and critically ill, so in many cases insurance is not an option. In steps Uncle Sam's answer "Medicare." Medicare Takes a look at this scenario and says "Drug X? That's worth no more that $8, and the procedure $50. So on this bill, we'll pay for $58 of that $110 it costs you." So it takes 2 procedures just to make overhead one the first. Now add into that the fact that 6 out 7 patients requiring said drug and procedure are Medicare patients. Company Y has 2 options: refuse medicare and risk 85% of their business, or rip into the insurance companies for the remaining amount. And if you know anything about insurance, they never pay the full amount either. So in order to make overhead alone, these companies have to inflate the cost of their products/services several fold. Then toss in the hospital stay (which the hospital has to jump through the same hoops) and this company has to make a profit (other wise whats the point in even being in business.) So now you have taken an otherwise affordable procedure and by now it's damn near 10 times it's original costs. Now keep in mind, Compnay Y is only expecting to collect on 60% from the insurance company. Is it a scam? Yes, it's all designed to make the consumer reliant on the government. Because what looks better: "free" heathcare, or a $1000 hospital stay? These people are not fools!! As a very wise man love to point out "They think WE are stupid." The insurance companies? They wont pay full price, they'd be fools to. But thanks to government involvement, at least in this case, they now have to foot the bill for several people that the dead beats in Washington DC have refused to. It's not fair to us. So before you go blaming the medical providers and the insurance companies how about you take a look at the puppet masters? And if you thinks this is an isolated incident, think about when people require the most medical care... After 65. When does Medicare kick in? Ladies and gentlemen

Fix government and you fix a lot of problems with modern America. I'm not going to propose any political party here, because in all honesty, right now they both reek!
