Thumbs up So..umm...yeah...

So, has anyone ever dated or gotten into a serious relationship with their best friend? My all time best friend who I've known for a long time, just told me tonight that she has fallen in love with me, and wants to be in a serious relationship with me. We have the most fun together, are extremely compitable with each other, theres definitely a physical attraction. But still though...she's me best friend. Just kind of awkward and weird. And what happens if something happens in the relationship? Do we lose the friendship? I personally am confident enough that I could go back to being a close friend to her, but you know how girls are and how emotional they can be sometimes. I dont think she would be able to get back to that level, if something did go wrong.

So now I'm trying to figure out what I should do. Any advice or suggestions? unsure.gif

Talk to your best friend about how you feel. Tell her that you are willing to give it a try but you're afraid to lose her friendship if something goes wrong. Then go from there.

From a female's perspective... She wants to know your thoughts on the whole thing so don't hold any feelings back. Also i'm sure that she feels the same as you do, but the attraction is there and she can't deny it any more. Which is why she finally said something because she was afraid you wouldn't, and would be waiting forever for you to say something. They say that you should marry your best friend. That being said, you should proceed with caution. Don't just jump the gun. You should treat her like ou do all your girlfriends. She obviously likes how you treat them. It took alot for her to tell you how she feels, so don't just blow her off. You both should weigh the pros and cons. You should do a trial thing. Go on a couple of dates. if more things mesh then you should be fine. You may be plesently suprised.

We hang out and talk every day pretty much. The ONLY difference if we got together in a relationship, would be the physical part. Otherwise, everyone already thinks we're dating as it is because we're always together and always have so much fun. And like I said also...I'm more than confident that if for some reason the relationship didnt work out (dont know why it wouldnt since we're fully compatible now), then I could go right back to being a close friend to her.

We'll see how it goes I guess. smile.gif Thanks everyone.

My best friend is my wife and it's worked out well for us, although we started dating first. Don't have any first hand experience doing it your way.

So we made it official last weekend and are giving it shot. We both agreed again that if for some reason, the relationship didnt work out....we both know very well and are mature/confident enough to go right back to being best friends again. But I think this will be a good thing. We just have so much fun together, I dont forsee anything really going bad.

But its about damn time though. Been single for awhile and have dated some real head cases. *lol* Its nice to finally get involved with someone who I know is pretty normal! laugh.gif

Here's a pic of us during one of my sets at a club (she comes out every weekend and see's me spin also, and we both were trashed in this pic...haha....)
