Man Used Converted Van To Steal Gasoline, Police Say
KTLA News

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly stole gasoline from several gas stations in the Downtown Los Angeles area.
Richard Glover, 51, was arrested in connection with the thefts, according to a release from LAPD.
Surveillance video shows the suspect park a large white van above an underground fuel container at a gas station and using a converted vacuum system to extricate the gasoline.
The video also shows the suspect pop the hood of the truck as a decoy, police said.
Police say the inside of the van was gutted and fitted with an intricate system of tubes and hoses hooked up to an air conditioning pump and a 60-gallon barrel.
It is unknown how much gasoline was stolen, but an audit of a gas station on Main Street and 15th Street showed a loss of about 300 gallons.
Police believe he was taking the gas elsewhere and reselling it.
