Sellers fault or UPS's fault?
Bought something on ebay 9 days ago and they gave a tracking number but for the entire 9 days, tracking has only said "The seller has provided a tracking number. The tracking status will be updated once the shipment reaches the carrier." I messaged them and they checked with their warehouse, which said was shipped out on the day I bought it. I called UPS and they have nothing in their systems about it. The seller is saying UPS must have lost the package and they are sending a new item. Got a new tracking number and it says "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."
So is the seller full of crap or could UPS seriously be that messed up and have lost my package?

Seller full of crap. Status updates when they drop it off. I currently have a label sitting in my email for a return to Amazon and the status is the same. When I send it out, it'll show a different status.
*EDIT* - UPS *could* have lost it, but unlikely. If that *is*the case, then the seller should file a claim and send you a new whatever it was.

Whether it was UPS or the seller doesn't matter. Seller is responsible. Only the shipper can file a claim with UPS. Until it shows "delivery confirmation", it's on the seller to deal with.
