I went to the junyard today to pull the disc brake calipers and e-brake cable off of a 1998 tiburon. I got there and saw that the car had the 2000-2001 headlights and hood (front end). I said, this isn't a 1998 and the guy said yes it is, I checked the vin#.

I thought to myself (okay...idiot) and let it go because the brake calipers are the same on all RD's.

Anyway, I got a peek inside adn it had the rd1 interior and the rear end of the car had rd1 tailights. wtf? Did any Tibruon come with rd1 tailights and rd2 headlights/front-end? even the 1999's? I thought all tiburons with the rd1 headlights must have rd1 tailights and all tiburons with rd2 healights must have rd2 tailights...am i crazy or did the owner do an entire front end conversion?

I know it's been talked about on here, now I know at least one person has done it. Too bad he wrecked it.

weird....

Werd...sounds like he converted it. It's not hard...isn't it just hood, bumper and lights? I think even the fenders are the same between the two gens.

they do that here alot, you take a rd1 anc swap the frount to the rd2 and leave the rear alone. thats how i bought mine 3 years ago. but i also did the rear to rd2 the front conversion is about 1000 dollors and the rear is about 600
