Saw My Old Car Yesterday
#1
Well hello gang, I havent been on the site in a while. I got new slotted rotors and some hawk pads put on my cobalt SS and we needed a rear caliper piston compression tool so we went to the local pep boys.
Well low and behold, a young kid maybe 19-20 years old pops out of what looked like a fully restored car I used to own. My former 2000 Hyundai Tiburon with cuda design bodykit. I was shocked to see that #1 someone actually bought it and #2 it was up and running and fully restored to its former glory!
The whole car looked as if it was repainted and the bodykit was refiberglassed. I knew it was my car because it was the same paint color I had it painted and the turn signals still had my blue bulbs. It was still sitting on an H&R cup suspension kit and it had the same dual magnaflow exhaust. I was stoked but afraid to talk to the owner in case he was raped by the car dealer, lol. Well at least I know that my old car is still up and running and she lives in the local area. I hope I run across that youngin with my old car again. I would really like to race him, lol. j/k j/k. I wonder what the dealer had done to the car after I turned it in? I wonder if the OBX header was still in the car and I wonder if the replaced the camber bolts.
so many questions smile.gif
by the way: WHO IS GOING TO THE COLLEGE PARK TUNING MEET ON MAY 2ND 2010?

I think if I see the guy thats driving my old car, I'll tell him to go to this CPT meet, lol. it'll be a good opportunity to talk to him instead of parking lot stalking him.

more than likely being you say his age....
the car lot did all the body work and then assraped him in the end.
took my car to the hyundai dealership the other day and they told me they had just got rid of a forest green RD2 5speed. some tool bought it for 7k with 105 on the speedo.
ask the car saleman if he used lube and all he did was smile.

wow, that price is nuts. I paid 8k for my 01 back in the day (2002) and it had 11k on it!!!
The dealer probably fixed it, unless they auctioned it or something. Dealers only sell cars in (visually) great shape and most toss aside anything over 70k or so.
I just did a kbb search to see whats up on pricing these days. of course these are all prices in my area.
MINT 01 tiburon from dealer with 100k - 4790
01 tiburon from private party with 100k:
Mint condition 3340
fair - 2965
poor - 2515
trade in 2025 on a mint tiburon..ouch!
I'm surprised what people will pay for a car with 100k on it. A lot of people judge a car soley by the looks. No rust or dents, then it must be a good reliable car. Must be the reason honda nuts will pay 5k for an accord with 200k on it.

lolz, my car had 86k miles on it when I traded it in and I got $2000 for it. The car ended up being auctioned and was bought by a buy here pay here dealer. Im betting that kid is paying weekly payments, and im sure its gonna cost him $8000 in the end, lol. I really gotta find him. He he shows up on this forum with my car point him to my username and tell him to pm me. Im pretty sure some of you guys know what my car looks like. in fact im sure the pics of it are still on here
