Up front: I don't receive any perks from you signing up. There's no referral incentives for me (that I'm aware of).
The program: Rewards Network.
How it works: You sign up, give them your credit card info, and when you dine at any of their partnered locations, you earn benefits.
The benefits: Airline Miles (Northwest, American Airlines, etc.), UPromise funds, Cash Back
https://www.rewardsnetwork.com/join.htm?id=RN17 - This is the Cash Back program. You earn 15-20% cash back on every purchase at the participating locations. It can include anything from McDonald's to Fine Dining or Nightclubs and Bars. The best part is, all you do is sign up, and you never have to worry about it after that. If you just happen to eat at a participating location, you receive the benefits. There's no follow up required (although, I'm with American Airlines, and you receive extra miles if you Rate the restaurant after you dine).
I earn frequent flyer miles. http://aa.rewardsnetwork.com
WARNING - if you don't live near a major city, they probably don't have much in your area. Nashville has over 60 last time I checked, Chicago has over 100 locations within a 5 mile radius. Los Angeles has hundreds of course.
It can't hurt, no risk involved, you don't have to pay. Rewards Network makes money off advertisement. They offer loans to these restaurants, and the restaurants pay it back as a portion of sales. It's a service provided to the restaurants, including feedback from patrons, ratings of the restaurant, and sometimes bonuses for dining. For me, when I travel to a city, I'll look up the highest ratings on Rewards Network for that city and I'll try to find a way to eat there. The provide menus, pictures, and customer feedback on the site so you know what it's like before you get there.
With American Airlines, I earn 5 miles for every dollar I spend. Sometimes they have promotions where I earn 20 miles for every $1, or a bonus of 1,000 miles after only 3 visits somewhere. 5 miles per $1 = 500 miles for a $50 dinner. Right now, they're running a promotion where I earn an additional 5 miles per $1 if I rate the restaurant (giving a total of 10 miles for every $1 spent, so a $20 lunch is 200 miles).
Can't hurt to try it out. If you're eating at the restaurant anyways, might as well get something for it. I'm hoping someone will try the Cash Back program and let me know how it works. You can join multiple programs, BUT each credit card can only be registered with one program.
Quick look - ABQ has 27 locations, Detroit, Michigan has 78, and Nashville has 43 (more in the outlying cities).

EXACTLY my point pat! If the company's paying (even better if you can choose where to eat) then why not reap the rewards?!
These systems are designed for business men or sales people who take clients out to lunch! Hell, get a Cash Back credit card and get it two ways!
