OK, so today, i get in the car at about 7:40, already a lil late to work.

anyway, look in the rear view, looks like my window is covered in frost.. well, its 55 degrees out, so i know what it is. glass is has been broken, but hasn't fallen in.

so i call the popo and just file a report over the phone for the hell of it. i call my work and let em know i will be in late, or not in at all.

at about 8am i log onto safelites website to get an estimate. they let give you an accurate quote online, right away, and you can then schedule and appointment at their place, or they can come to you. i scheduled an appointment for 9am.

went outside, taped up the windshield to prevent the whole thing from coming out

so i get there like 15 min early, (drove slow as hell so the rear windshield wouldn't fall out lol) lost about 10% on the way, prob wasnt best idea to drive..

back to the safelite thing, they got my car in the bay 10 min before my appointment, and i was out of there by 930.

price was decent also. 210$ with labor to replace the entire rear windshield.

VERY fast, GREAT customer service, and good prices.

just figured i would post it up, cuz im usually never this satisfied with any business and it could potentially help people out with glass issues in the future.

Safelite failed a repair on my windshield, and it started spreading. When I got here to SC, i changed my insurance. Repairs are now free. If they can't repair, they replace for free. My windshield was replaced for free by safelite, and all I had to do was make a call.

I only had to deal with windsheilds once but I'll always use the same guy I had do mine then. He drove from Grand Rapids to his second shop in Kalamazoo on a saturday morning (8am) that he wasn't open on to change my windsheild for me, and all for a good price.

check with your insurance. When my windshield cracked they paid to have it replaced. The insurance people told me that one windshield a year doesn't affect the rates.

Glad you had a good experience, still suckes that it happened though. Does anyone know if these guys operate in Pa? I have a nice crack in my windshield that I'm going to need to take care of soon...

QUOTE (safelite)
If the crack's smaller then a dollar bill, we can repair it. A repair's lots cheaper then a replacement
Read- get a big crack in your windshield. Go through your insurance

Safelight does cover PA. I used them once on a older car. they were able to fix a crack the size of a dime and it looked great.
